Krishna
The Divine Story
Lord Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu, revealed in the Bhagavad Gita as 'Purna Avatara' (complete incarnation). The Bhagavata Purana declares him as 'Svayam Bhagavan' - the Supreme Personality of Godhead who enchants the universe.
First Manifestation
Krishna manifested in Dwapara Yuga as described in the Bhagavata Purana, born at midnight on Ashtami of Krishna Paksha in Bhadrapada month to restore dharma and destroy evil.
Divine Purpose
To teach divine love (prema bhakti), establish dharma through the Mahabharata war, impart supreme spiritual knowledge through the Gita, and demonstrate that the divine can be approached through playful devotion.
Spiritual Significance
In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna reveals himself as the supreme reality and teacher of dharma. The Brahma Vaivarta Purana celebrates him as 'Rasa-raja' (king of divine love) who establishes the path of bhakti.
